Jeff Slaughter at Brentwood, TN Barnes & Noble Today!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (July 26, 2013) - Singer/songwriter, worship leader and author Jeff Slaughter, best known to millions as the composer behind LifeWay Vacation Bible School’s most beloved songs, is scheduled to appear at Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Brentwood, Tenn. Slaughter will be on hand to sign his debut book, It’s All True: Walking By Faith in a Funky World, at the Barnes & Noble location at 1701 Mallory Lane at 2 p.m. Saturday.

“Back in the day when I taught piano lessons in the Franklin/Brentwood area, I spent many hours hanging in the Cool Springs Barnes & Noble between lessons,” Slaughter says. “I never dreamed I’d ever do a book signing there. Being there Saturday will be an epic moment for me and I’m grateful to have been invited!”

Saturday’s event will be family-friendly, with a number of youth groups expected to attend the event, which will be held in the popular Cool Springs area of Brentwood.

It’s All True, Slaughter’s autobiography co-written with Randy Winton, was released May 21 by Skyhorse Publishing. Slaughter shares captivating stories of divine appointments and everyday miracles that challenge readers to be on the lookout for God’s miraculous interventions in their own lives. And, whether sharing stories of his success as a Christian musician, his grief over losing both of his parents to cancer, his tales of childhood growing up along the Mississippi Delta or his hilariously awkward retelling of personal family matters, Slaughter reaffirms that it is possible to thrive in a funky world.

Jeff Slaughter reconnects with a friend at Barnes & Noble book signing “I love a good story. A good one at the right time can change your life. Reading Jeff’s has certainly affected mine,” friend and music superstar Amy Grant writes in the book’s foreword. “There are pivotal moments in all our lives, but rarely has one man’s courageous story so gracefully expressed the perseverance, hope—and, yes, faith—we all rely on to get by.”

Industry experts estimate that more than 46 million people have sung Slaughter’s songs throughout the world. The inspiration for some of his most touching and meaningful songs comes from the experiences he recounts in It’s All True, including the song entitled “It’s All True.” From his childhood in Greenwood, Miss., to his world tours through Vacation Bible School, Slaughter’s story will speak to those who search for faith, and for the hope that life will lead them beyond their present circumstance.

It’s All True is available at major retailers, including LifeWay Christian Bookstores, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million and Amazon. For more information about Slaughter and It’s All True, visit jeffslaughter.com.
